Waterford trout anglers hold a number of open competitions annually. These are the Carrigavantry Cup  and the Knockaderry Cup. In recent years both of these competitions have been held on the Saturday and Sunday of the October Bank Holiday weekend.

We also host a heat of the Fastmail Tackle Pairs competition.

We have hosted qualifiers for the Irish Ladies Team and practice sessions for youth team members.

A number of angling clubs and organisations have held their competitions at our venues.

The Club also holds a confined members competition annually known as the Dick Doyle competition.  This is held on Carrigavantry towards the end of the year.

Each year the club donates the proceeds of our charity competition (Carrigavantry Cup) to a different Charity.  In recent years these have included Down Syndrome Ireland, RNLI, Simon Community, Irish Disabled Anglers Association and Nadines Cancer Battle Trust
